Community Comments
Angel House provides 3 levels of ESL classes for participants:
• We come to you because you are the only place to provide
services with honesty, integrity, compassion, and caring.
• I come to learn English. The teachers are good. They are nice.
They care for us.
• The husbands of the woman who come to the Angel say
they have found a good, good place.
• I like Angel House. They are nice. They are fun. They teach me
English and computers and how to read the books.
• I was having problems with my husband. I went to someone
else, and he did not address the problems. I came to one of
the teachers here, she got to the basics of the problems, and
now we are getting along really good.
• I was happy to see you at Office Max on Monday. I was more
happy to know that you still in the community doing great job as
usual. Best wishes, Abdul
• You care for our people so much. We know you love us. You
know us. We trust you.
• We really like it here, this place is very good.

Volunteer Comments
• Thank you for the opportunity to serve with you at Angel House.
It was a privilege.
• Today was my first visit to Angel House. In a word, amazing.
• I learned so much working with you and with your students. It
makes me want to study the Middle East and Arabic even more.
(Texas)
• Where we live in the South, we don’t have the ethnic diversity
you have in Dearborn. We have learned so much, and will
continue to come and work alongside you every year. The
work you do is so valuable and needed. (Louisiana and Georgia)
• On our Spring Break from the University of Massachusetts, we
had a great time helping you with projects around Angel House,
and especially working with your students as they studied English
and computers. You have a great program here---we will be back!
(Massachusetts)

Immersion and Teaching Comments
Here’s what those who participate in our ½ day Immersion Programs have to say,
as well as those who participate in our teaching on Arab Culture, Islam, and this community:
• It was great getting to interact with the Yemeni ladies that came
to English class and observing how teaching was done, especially
when they speak no English at all.
• The best was ‘storytime’ with Diane in the community
• What was so informative was entering the mosque & listening to
the Imam share and be able to ask questions to him personally
about Islam.
• The whole experience was incredibly eye-opening.
• The context of seeing the mosque first-hand was very
interesting. I’ve never been in a mosque before.
• I didn’t even know this community existed here. It is so
interesting. I felt like I just went on a trip to the Middle East!
• I felt this was an excellent presentation. I learned so much. Thank
you, thank you! When will the next session be?
• Thank you for all the effort you put into the presentation. It was
superiorly informative and excellently assembled and produced.
• Thank you for your teaching and the valuable insights you shared
